Eliza Harris Juliano, Canin Associates, USA
Eliza is the Director of Urbanism at Canin Associates in Orlando where she leads the Urban Planning studio. The studio tackles master planned communities, infill, form-based codes, multi-modal transportation design, and public sector planning. Ms. Juliano has managed private and public sector projects with a focus on improving land use and urban design in order to encourage greater transportation efficiency and choice while contributing to sustainability and quality of life.
Ms. Juliano is engaged in outreach and advocacy on smart growth issues and is active in the leadership of local and national peer organizations. She is also a regular bicycle commuter. Among her many professional volunteer efforts, Eliza chaired the national board of the Congress for the New Urbanism from 2017-2018 and served on the Community Workgroup for the Winter Park Health Foundation. Currently, she serves on the boards of Bike/Walk Central Florida and CNU Florida. She also served on the DTO Task Force overseeing the Downtown CRA ten-year plan, and the sustainability committees for both Orlando and Orange County.
Eliza started her education in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She holds a B.A. in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard College and participated in immunology and cellular biology research in various laboratories during her undergraduate career. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from Harvard Graduate School of Design, where she gained exposure to a broad slate of planning related issues ranging from policy to real estate and landscape ecology.
